Hands raised high in the air. Sign me up. Let’s adventure together. I can’t say enough about how dynamic a couples’ engagement session is when we are in a location that has sentimental meaning. It’s like magic takes over and we create the most emotive and beautiful images. Hannah and Jim’s fall engagement session at Letchworth State Park was just that…magic. Jim proposed to Hannah by the bridge you see in the pictures below. We hiked down the hill and over the creek and muddy walkways to get to this spot and I’m so glad we did. From there we traveled our way through the rest of the park (which is huge!) stopping for perfect light and breathtaking photo ops, of which there are so so many. Now, tomorrow, we celebrate. We are thrilled to work with this beautiful couple again and look forward to sharing their wedding story here at a later date. For now, on the eve of their wedding day, please enjoy some highlights from Hannah and Jim’s engagement session.
Letchworth State Park Engagement Session, Letchworth wedding photographer Rochester NY Wedding PhotographerEarlier this summer, I had the honor o capturing the wedding of Jen and Patrick. Jen is a friend from high school and when she contacted me last year to photograph her wedding, I was thrilled. Jen has always been one of the sweetest people I know and it was so wonderful to be there to witness all the love and laughter that she and Patrick share together. Their wedding day was truly a fairytale all the way down to the horse drawn carriage! They planned the whole event to take place at the historic Genesee Country Village Museum which, if you haven’t been, is a fun place to visit. The venue provided the most unique backdrop for their wedding and we had a choice of the coolest photo spots! I had an absolute blast capturing their wedding and it is my hope that you enjoy these favorite shots as much as I enjoyed capturing them! Jen’s hairdresser has been cutting her hair since she was little.
Jen’s GORGEOUS dress!
One of my favorite shots wedding after wedding: The groom seeing his bride come down the aisle for the first time. Patrick was beaming! It was a picture perfect day with blue, blue skies!
They read their vows together, filled with all things Jen and Patrick. Super cute!
Jen and Patrick exited to a Harry Potter song…love it!
Outside the brewery. So cool.
Party time! We headed back to the banquet center for the reception. Jen and Patrick planned all the little details. Both engineers, they included things like gears, lego candy and a little tool keychain for favors.
These two pulled out all the stops and had a choreographed first dance with some pretty difficult ballroom dancing moves! Our last shot of the night outside the giant gazebo. Thank you again Jen and Patrick for inviting me to be a part of your day! rochester ny wedding photographer, rochester wedding photographers, genesee country village museum, genesee country village museum wedding Buffalo NY Engagement Photographer It was planned and set and we were so excited for Christina and Jonathan’s engagement session. It was going to be beautiful with some stops along the Buffalo waterfront and downtown. And then it rained. Poured to be exact. Christina was crushed. We had to either call it off, play in the rain or change our location to an indoor spot. I mentioned the Hotel Lafayette, an iconic and historical venue in Buffalo, as a fantastic spot to do their engagement session. Sure it wasn’t the picturesque outdoorsy photo location they had originally envisioned but I reassured them, this would be worth it. Possibly even better. They placed complete trust in me and I thank them for that. Because their session was AMAZING. Absolutely amazing. We set up so many creative and wonderful shots. A little lighting magic, one fantastic hotel full of nooks and crannies of gold in terms of photo spots, and Christina and Jonathan’s chemistry and devotion to one another took care of the rest. they had me laughing the whole time. I can’t remember the last time I laughed THAT MUCH during a session and it felt great! We had so much fun and in the end, they were in love with the photos. We all ran back to our cars in the rain at the end of their session all smiles. Christina and Jonathan’s engagement session is proof that a little (or a lot, 2.5 inched to be exact) of rain can’t get in the way of making good things happen! Enjoy this wonderful session! I can’t wait to capture their wedding next June! Buffalo Engagement Photographer One of my amazing couples getting married in 2016, Courtney and Steve! We met at the site of their new house that they are building in Niagara County (cannot wait to see pics when it’s finished) to start our session. They had a glorious field with the most perfect light behind the house. We headed to Olcott Beach afterwards to finish out our session and were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunset. We were chasing the light this whole session and it chased us back, giving us gorgeous golden tones and lighting the way for some fantastic images. I cannot wait to work with Courtney and Steve next September to capture their wedding day! Enjoy! |
