Buffalo Wedding Photographers, Pearl Street Buffalo Weddings

It was written by a friend of mine in the best way:  Our country is a bit more free this year.  In Buffalo NY and New York State as a whole, we are so lucky that couples have had marriage choice for awhile.  And I’m so glad we have because it brought me the opportunity to work with a FANTASTIC couple!  Jeffrey and Tarik had me brimming from ear to ear with smiles and laughs all day.  Their wedding celebration was the icing on the cake for them, the obvious next step for a couple who cares so whole heartedly for one another, and they wanted it to be nothing more than a big celebration of love and family.  We celebrated with a wonderful ceremony and off the wall reception at one of Buffalo’s iconic venues, Pearl at the Webb.  Jeffrey and Tarik, your love for one another is an example to live by for all and I count my lucky stars I had the opportunity to capture your day for you!  Enjoy!

Family Portrait Photographers Buffalo NY

A couple weeks ago I had the wonderful pleasure of working with a truly awesome family.  People often think the “perfect” family portrait is one where everyone is looking and smiling perfectly.  But to me as a photographer, the perfect portrait is about the interaction between family members, the love and compassion they have for one another (especially parents and their children)  Capturing children at a young age isn’t about perfection.  It’s about the funny moments, the cheesy smiles, the pure innocence and having no care in the world other than to be a kid.   AnnMarie, Mark and their two beautiful girls were such a joy to work with, this was hands down one of the best family sessions I have had 🙂  We grabbed a ton of great shots and it was so hard to choose the best ones to share.  But, I had to narrow it down!  Here are a few faves!

When I reflect on my career as a Professional Photographer thus far, I think constantly about how lucky and blessed I am to work with whom I’m convinced are some of the nicest and genuine couples on the planet.  Marie and Tom were no exclusion.  As a photographer and an artist, I am very attached to the story, the meaning behind every move and every detail.  It ultimately plays an important role in not only connecting my couples with their images but also in pulling complete strangers into the story and invoking a sense of connection.  In my belief, then, a picture becomes a photograph: something of deeper meaning beyond the surface of the paper.  I can’t tell these stories without chemistry between a couple and Marie and Tom are FILLED with it!  Which of course had the camera shooting a mile a minute as these two beamed at each other in adoration 🙂  I love it!  Sweet, simple and everlasting.  These are the words that come to mind when I think about Tom and Marie’s wedding.  Tom and Marie have been together for a number of years so typing the knot was a much anticipated event for both of them and without a doubt, the biggest moment of both of their lives thus far.  Tom is adorably smitten for Marie and watching the two of them interact is truly a treat.  THIS is the magic I talk about, the sense of unpredictability and wonder that unfolds on a  wedding day.  It creates beautiful imagery that tells the couples story and sets the stage for the next chapter.  With that said, let’s begin.  We started the day with some getting ready with the girls at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center in Getzville.  In addition Marie and Tom wanted to do a first look (love!) and the grounds gave us plenty of great space to do so.  I’ve said it before and I will say it many more times:  I love first looks!  I get goosebumps EVERYTIME that magic little tap on the shoulder happens and a couple sees each other for the first time.  Marie and Tom’s was funny and sincere.  I recall a moment where Marie stuck her tongue out to Tom and he threw his head back laughing.  Classic moment.  The ceremony and roof-raising party took place at Banchetti’s Grove and this crowd filled the floor!  The day was truly a dream for Marie and Tom and I truly enjoyed working with these two.  Enjoy some of our favorite shots from the day!

Another fabulous wedding!  And I have to say, this may have been one of my favorites.  Ben and Megan currently live in New Orleans (one of my all time favorite cities!) Megan’s roots are in Buffalo and it was fitting that they hold they come back to her hometown for their wedding.  They had the ceremony and reception at the always stunning Fox Valley Country Club in Lancaster.  When I met Megan nearly 1 year ago on a chilly winter afternoon, we got to know each other a bit and she talked about her awesome fiancé Ben and all the great plans they had for their big day.  Megan is in the photographic industry as well and Ben is a music teacher.  I was super excited to work with such a cool and creative couple.  Well, the big day came and it was anything short of extraordinary.  These two lovebirds brought with them not just a great chemistry and a “meant to be” relationship, they came with an amazingly fun family, a crowd that danced like no other, and more love and joy than could fill the room.  The Buffalo Jazz and Swing Band took us to the Big Easy all night long, playing super smooth, jazzy classics with fun and flair mixed in.  We were dancing all night long for sure and had an absolute blast capturing this love story to share and tell!  Ben and Megan, thank you for letting us be a part of your big day!  You two are truly a classy and beautiful couple!

On April 28th, I had a wonderful opportunity two collaborate with two great Western New York entrepreneurs, Gillian from Murals by Gillian and Mary Jo from Baby Bongos in Orchard Park.  Gillian paints gorgeous murals and you should definitely check her work out!  For this project though, she was diving into something called baby bump painting, basically face painting for your belly (for mommies-to-be of course!).  She was in need of a photographer and I of course said “Sure!  Why not?!”  We held the first baby bump painting party at Baby Bongos in Orchard Park and had a great, intimate group of ladies ready and eager to share their good news and have some fun getting painted.  It was a ton of fun and the results were definitely unique and beautiful!  Here are some highlights of Gillian in action and the beautiful bump paintings!  Enjoy!
