Needless to say, this has been a very busy fall for weddings, family sessions, beautiful couples, and more!  I have enjoyed each and every client I have had the chance to work with over the past couple months!  Jason and Danielle tied the knot in Lockport, NY on September 21 and I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph their beautiful day!  These two lovebirds are family to us and it was such a joy to capture their day.  They got married at the gorgeous Kenan House in Lockport and celebrated their reception at the Tuscarora Inn where dancing and fun was NOT in short supply!  Here are some favorites from their big day!  Congratulations Jason and Danielle!

Life has been super crazy and absolutely wonderful as we welcomed our beautiful daughter Madison into the world on September 10!!!  Now that life has settled, it’s time to update my poor blog!  Business is soaring and I have had such awesome opportunities to work with many beautiful families and wonderful couples over the past few months (my favorite part about my job! 🙂  A little over a week ago I met Kevin and Ashley for their engagement session at the Niagara Falls State Park.  It was a cloudy Columbus Day and the skies looked like they were ready to open up but that didn’t stop us from capturing some gorgeous images!  I had such a great time meeting you guys and working with you!!!!  Here’s a sneak peek of their gorgeous session!

It has been a super busy summer!  Between shoots, weddings, and most of all preparing for the exciting arrival of our baby girl Madison, I have let this blog fall to the back burner.  So, with that said, it’s time for some updates on my wanderings and photographic adventures lately, starting with Michele and Matt.  I have known Michele since college but never had the chance to really get to know her until the past couple of years.  She is such a bubbly and fun person, there is no doubt she is going to make a beautiful bride this coming Saturday!  Michele and Matt are such a cute couple, so dynamic and genuine, they were easy to photograph.  I jokingly tell Michele I feel like I’m taking photos for a magazine or something because there is such a natural chemistry with the two of them!  Michele had some really great ideas for using pictures for their table numbers at the wedding (love it!) and asked me to do the photos.  I love anything funky or different and this was right up my alley!  But, we built in a nice and relaxed, intimate engagement session in there too.  I thoroughly enjoyed this e-session and wish Michele and Matt all the congratulations as they say “I do” this weekend!

On May 12, I had the wonderful pleasure of capturing Kristen and Tom’s beautiful wedding day in Amherst, NY, officially opening wedding season for Michelle Day Photography…Woooooo!!!!!!  This adorable couple shared their big day with so many friends and family who obviously love them to pieces!  From the fun shoes to the beautiful fairytale wedding dress to the emotional speeches, first dances, and the party on the dance floor, Kristen and Tom will have one amazing day to remember for the rest of their lives.  It was my honor to help capture those memories!  Check out some of the highlights!

Sunday, April 1, 2012 was anything but what the weather prediction was.  It was chilly, rainy, cloudy, and even hailed a couple times.  But, we didn’t let a little yucky weather get in the way of having an awesome engagement shoot, in facet, we used it to our creative advantage.  “perfect” pictures are not necessarily taken under what most people consider to be “perfect” conditions….sunny blue skies, maybe a few fluffy clouds.  I love the opportunity nature lends me as a photographer to get creative for the couples and families I work with, especially when it comes to the less than perfect conditions!  It is in those sessions where I often get some of the sweetest shots!  I had a blast running around Buffalo with Crysti and her fiance Dave.  They had such a magnetic chemistry that was adorable and it came across undoubtedly in the images we captured.  You guys look like models!  Not to mention they’re flexibility and willingness to try new ideas.  From Anderson’s Ice Cream to Spot Coffee to a run down and vine covered brick building, city hall and Gates Circle, this engagement has Buffalo all over it!  Seeing these two together just gets me hyped up for their November 2012 wedding!  Enjoy!
