Jenny and I go way back to high school in my hometown of Churchville, NY.  When she contacted me about the possibility of photographing her wedding, I was ecstatic.  How great would it be to get the opportunity to capture the biggest, happiest day for a friend and fellow classmate?!  This is where my job comes full circle and I admit it makes my heart smile.  I get so many opportunities each year to work with and photograph wonderful and unique families, couples, and weddings and when it’s someone I know, it makes it even more special.  These two together are dynamite.  They have a sweet, quiet and spirited love that is so evident when they look at each other.  We frolicked around Corn Hill Landing in Rochester for some cool city shots and then headed to Highland Park for some more natural images where we found THE coolest tree around.  You’ll see it below!!!  They made my job easy!  I simply cannot wait for their wedding next May!  Check out their sneak peek.

Buffalo NY Wedding Photographers

One pretty sentimentally awesome aspect of my job I have encountered so far is having the honor to photograph people I know on their most important day and being there to capture all the details and their bliss.  I first met Kristin when we were students at Daemen College, which seems like forever ago now!  I was actually her Resident Assistant haha!  When she contacted me about photographing her wedding for her a little over a year ago, I was touched and of course, completely honored to be her photographer.  Kristin has a smile that lights up the room and just about the most easy-going and care free personality of anyone I have met in life so far.  And it’s clear that Jonathan brings out the best in her and is truly her soul mate.  Their day was simple, fun and beautiful with old man weather holding out just long enough for us to get some lovely, softly lit photographs amongst the trees at Emery Park in East Aurora.  I barely had to direct these two as their chemistry was so dynamic sparks flew without effort 🙂  I love when that happens! Kristin and Jonathan were married at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Hamburg and celebrated a rocking’ reception at the Old Orchard Inn with fantastic, non-stop music and entertainment provided by Signature Entertainment.  Kristin and Jonathan, your day was effortlessly beautiful and I had such a great time capturing all of the wonderful moments shared by you, your friends and families.  Here are some of the best shots from the day, and it was a hard choice!!!!  Congratulations again you two!

There are some people you meet in life that you just feel truly blessed to know.  Abbey and Adam were an instant connection for me and as soon as we met for our consultation, I was super hopeful that I would get to photograph their big day.  Let’s start with the fact that these two are head over heels, to the moon and back, you look gorgeous in your sweatpants in love with each other.  Adam gets this melty smile whenever Abbey is near and Abbey…well I swear she is always smiling and you can’t help but just love the two of them together!  Their day began in their hometown of Dunkirk, NY and we then traveled back to the city for some urban, edgy fun and a little storm chasing!  These two and their wedding party were down for anything which was perfect because Mother Nature was literally chasing US the entire day.  The dark clouds were rolling in fast over Tifft Nature Preserve and we got in some awesome, super cool shots just in time for the skies to open up.  That’s when we hit the steps of Buffalo City Hall.  Adam’s a big architecture and history guy so this was perfect!  As you can see some of our group shots look pretty ominous.  Judgement day was rolling in it seemed and these guys persevered to get the shots they wanted.  And the results are pretty spectacular and cool.  Abbey and Adam, your day was nothing short of beautiful and amazing and I am so honored you asked me to be such a big part of your day.  Congratulations you two!!!!  Here’s a sneak peek collection of some of our favorite shots from the day!!!!

Abbey was easily the happiest bride EVER!

I am in love with this moment that happened here between Abbey and her sweet mom.  It’s moment’s like this that make a wedding story come together.  I’m so glad we captured it!

Abbey and Adam’s adorably sweet son patrick was so excited for the day and very intrigued in this makeup process mom was going through haha!

I think my jaw literally dropped when I saw these shoes!  Betsey Johnson’s wedding collection apparently make some knock out heels!  And Abbey rocked them for 95% of the day.  A LOT further than I would have ever made it!  I was in my rain boots before my reception even hit!

Such lovely detailing on her gown and it was a glove-like fit.

Abbey wore her grandmother’s earrings for the day.  Timeless glam and elegance.

There is a special tree Abbey’s grandmother planted outside the church and it was so important and meaningful for us to get a shot by that tree.  Incorporating sentimental moments like this into your wedding day tugs at the heartstrings and makes it all that much more memorable and special.

Undoubtedly every season I am surprised with new wedding trends, unique touches my couples incorporate into their days, big parties, small and intimate gatherings.  I’m always excited to see what this years brides (and grooms! They like the details too!) will come up with.  Drew and Lyndsey did not disappoint and drove it home when it came to details.  Their wedding was out of a magazine and literally EVERY.  SINGLE.  DETAIL was done by hand.  Amazing.  Let’s begin with how we met:  My husband and I knew Drew personally and the second I met Lyndsey, I knew we were going to be a great team!  Lyndsey is so sweet, loves theatre and is a wicked talented dancer and actress on the Disney Dream cruise ship.  She and Drew met through their jobs with Disney and basically once they met, the rest was history.  We met for their engagement session nearly a year before their wedding at Knox Farms and they blew me away.  They had this romance thing in the bag and still do.  Their wedding this summer was one of my favorites this season for so many reasons, but most of all for the pure, adulterated joy and passion these two share for each other.  So much of that came alive in their photos and their collection is stunning and full of charm.  I’m sure it helps Lyndsey has theatre background too 😉  But all jokes aside, these two truly have it and know what it takes.  Please enjoy these images as much as we have.  I believe they truly tell a story, a sort of fairytale of two souls (not to sound cliche!) and it’s one worth sharing to inspire everyone to love as much as these two do.  Drew and Lyndsey, it was a GREAT honor to be there to capture all the “magic” of your wedding day and a joy to watch you two being this next step together.

There is so much going on in this shot I love it!  Each of Lyndsey’s bridesmaids is so invested in her and it shows through the smiles on each of their faces.

Lyndsey sat at the piano bench in her parents parlor.  I caught the light PERFECTLY falling on her face and I KNEW I had to grab this shot.  I’m so glad I did because this image speaks volumes.

Drew and Lyndsey were busy bees this past year preparing these ridiculously awesome signs for their wedding.  This one in particular had to be about 8 feet tall!  What a statement it made walking into their ceremony.

You know you’re surrounded by theatre folks when an entire group stands up and starts singing “525,600 minutes” from Rent to Drew and Lyndsey.  A complete surprise to Lyndsey, it brought her to tears.  This was such a memorable moment and the entire room was signing along.

There are so many things that keep me going in my business as a Professional Photographer.  First and foremost: My clients.  The relationships we build together throughout the planning and beyond the wedding day are priceless.  Another aspect I enjoy is how every wedding is different.  It’s completely true!  Despite the number of times i have seen burlap in every color of the rainbow and mason jars this year, no wedding has been the same as the other.  Brittnay and Matt take the cake this season for the most unique and down to earth wedding I have had honestly in my entire career so far.  Let’s begin: These two have been together for nearly a DECADE to begin with and are should mates.  Matt and Brittnay are equally into each other and when they are together, they both melt.  Their wedding was full of all kinds of details.  The entire event was held at Matt’s family cabin in East Otto, NY which has to be the most grand and beautiful place I have ever visited.  I seriously was convinced that cabins like that only existed in magazines.  What a blessing that these two had that property to hold their celebration.  It was truly a hometown wedding.  From the hay bales for seating at the ceremony, to the girls (Brittnay included!) all glammed up in their dresses and cowboy boots and all the way down to the FULL fireworks display at the end of the night.  This was a wedding to remember!  I know I certainly will not forget it!  I trekked it up some seasonal use only roads to the family cabin and had the time of my life with some of the most genuine, down to earth and kind individuals I have ever met.  Brittnay and Matt, I know you love your photos already and I am so thrilled to share your story with any visitors here to the blog.  This wedding deserves to be shared!

Into the details and sentiment as much as me.  Love this girl!  Brittnay made this shabby chic wedding keepsake bouquet.  This would have been a lot easier than my failed attempts at pressing flowers between book pages after my wedding 🙂
