MODERN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY & ENGAGEMENTS: BUFFALO, NY

This wedding season in Buffalo, NY has been crazy and amazing!  I wouldn’t trade it for anything and have loved every second of it!  It seems like the sessions are pouring in lately and I have had great opportunity to get out and shoot in the beautiful fall weather and enjoy the colors that Western New York and Buffalo are blessed with in my photographs.  This next session was so fun because these two love birds are just too cute.  We ventured into Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park, NY, a suburb just outside of Buffalo, NY. They were dancing, holding hands, twirling, joking and laughing every second!  I love when a couple comes into their session ready and willing to just be themselves.  I tell each couple I work with, whether it be a wedding, engagement session, or portrait session: “If it doesn’t feel natural, then don’t do it.”  Sure, we want to push our limits and think outside the box to get some stellar images but, at the end of the day, it’s about the chemistry and spark created by the couple in their own way that makes the photographs speak without words.  And right there is what photojournalism and my personal style as a photographer in Buffalo, NY is all about!  I am in love with the colors Melissa and John chose because they just blend and pop so well with the background!  And their expressions speak for themselves!  Enjoy this sneak peek of some of my favorite images from Melissa and John’s e-session in Buffalo, NY!

We are so lucky in Western New York to have seasons!  Most of us, myself included, can say we love Fall.  And the above photo shows why.

Let’s go Buffalo!  Melissa and John are HUGE Buffalo Bills fans and wanted to throw on their jerseys for a few shots.  FUN!  Their gameday faces overlooking the Buffalo skyline are perfect!

BUFFALO WEDDING and ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

Just as this wedding season in Buffalo, NY is coming to a close, I am busy preparing and meeting with couples for their wedding day in 2014.  The cycle of weddings is a wheel that is constantly in motion and it is one of the best things about what I do!  There are always weddings being planned no matter where you go!  Part of that preparation for next season is having the opportunity to work with my 2014 couples 1 on 1 through an engagement session.  What better time for engagement photos than fall in Buffalo, NY!  The colors are gorgeous, the air is crisp and cool and it is absolutely perfect!  If you are planning your wedding in Buffalo, NY or the Western New York area and are unsure of whether to do an engagement session, my immediate recommendation is yes!  An engagement session gives us the chance to work together for the first time and get to know eachother and our styles more.  PLUS, you get some pretty rockin’ images to share with family and friends!  I recently met with Kate and Matt and instantly knew we were going to be a great team!  They are some of the sweetest people I have met and are fun to work with!  I met them and their adorable pup Nala at Losson Park in Cheektowaga, NY for Part I of their engagement session.  Here are just a few images from our time together!  I can’t wait for their wedding in 2014!

This wedding season has been so busy and awesome!  I have had the opportunity to work with and meet some pretty awesome couples and of course photograph their equally awesome weddings!  Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Stephanie and Mark at the Millenium Hotel in Buffalo, NY.  We worked hard to pick a great location for post-ceremony photos.  Now, this is where being a wedding photographer in Buffalo, NY has it’s perks!  You can literally get to so many great places in 20 minutes!  This is especially great for a wedding photographer because it usually means you don’t have to go far to get some great shots!  We chose Como Park in Depew and I think Stephanie and Mark will agree their photos are beautiful and truly tell-tale of their chemistry as a couple.  These two love birds made it so easy to capture love and emotion on their wedding day!  Here are some shots from their Buffalo, NY wedding!

I talk about it constantly, I know, but, I absolutely LOVE my job!  I meet so many wonderful couples and families and, I get the opportunity sometimes to work with some amazing people I know.  I have known Holly for a long time.  We go all the way back to high school and worked our first part time jobs together! (yeah!)  When Holly asked me to photograph her wedding back in our hometown, I was excited and honored.  How cool is it that I get to photograph the wedding of a wonderful and sweet person I have known for years!  She painted the picture for me nearly 1 year ago of her hometown wedding on her grandparents farm.  It all came alive on June 29.  Holly and her family had transformed her grandparents farm into a wedding wonderland.  The barn became the site for most of the action, decorated with mason jars, hundreds of white paper lanterns, and thousands of tiny white lights!  She even got up on her horse for some pretty cool shots!  I am pretty sure I am still pulling out cedar chips from the bottom of my bag after this wedding.  It was such a fun time, complete with dancing and the best BBQ dinner I have ever had!  Check out the shots from their wedding on the farm 🙂

Just a couple weeks ago, I got to work with an amazing couple whose wedding is coming up in November 2 in Rochester, NY.  We met at Highland Park in Rochester, site of the famous Lilac Festival, for some super sweet shots of these two.  They informed me they had been practicing, trying to take pictures of themselves to make sure they didn’t look silly and I had to laugh.  Their natural chemistry and obvious love for eachother is so evident in their photos.  Their wedding is going to be gorgeous, for sure and the bride and groom, well, they don’t need any practice.  They’ve got the hang of this 😉
